Three-dimensional 3D-vision, after other new technologies (mobile phones, laptops, etc.) has instantly acquired hearings about potential harm for health. However scientists still have not provided the reasoned proofs in favour of this hypothesis. On the contrary, the largest non-profit organisation in this branch - the American optometric association (American Optometric Association, AOA) not only officially recognised 3D as "the safe technology suitable for any category of the audience", but also takes active part in a consortium from 45 companies popularising a stereo of 3D-technology. Domestic experts share this point of view, allocating only one "but": in Russia there is no today an obligatory certification of cinemas. Therefore quite often 3D-films are shown in stereohalls which do not correspond to standards that increases probability of that any three-dimensional film can be or is incorrectly made, or - incorrectly shown. But it already other history which is not concerning a scientific problem.
And here the most widespread myths about negative influence 3D on a human body.
Myth No. 1: The stereo 3D is dangerous to development of children's sight.
Unless, if it is a question of regular display of films 3D to kids 3 years are more younger. But hardly normal parents will guess before, after all middle age of children which take with itself in a cinema, makes 6-8 years. Doctor Thomas Laure from the North American Center of protection of sight (Vision Care Center) is convinced: «after development of sight has passed a stage of a binding of a projection of the picture from eyes to синапсам a brain, to lose this touch already simply it is impossible, and all critical stages of this development just come to the end aged till three years».
According to ophthalmologists, negative feelings when viewing 3D are tested by children who already have various pathologies of organs of vision in the anamnesis more often.
Myth No. 2: The stereo 3D provokes epilepsy at teenagers.
This hypothesis has appeared because the mechanism of mertsaniye of active and barrier 3D-systems reminds the nature of light flashes in a range of alpha rhythms which cause epileptic seizures in the predisposed people. German scientists from University of Munich and their Austrian colleagues of University of Salzburg have made experiment in which 140 children aged till 12 years inclined to epilepsy have taken part. To them showed 15-minute sessions of 3D-video on the 50-inch screen of the plasma 3D-TV with active and barrier 3D-points which have been established at distance of 2 metres from the viewer. Reaction of the tested registered in a look электроэнцефалограммы. In result daily 15-minute viewing of the 3D-TV has not caused increase in epileptoformny activity of EEG in one of participants of research. Also at anybody it has not been fixed any epileptic attack. Relying on this experiment, scientists have come to a conclusion: at the patients entering into group of risk on this disease, the fact of viewing of a stereo 3D, and contents of the film, flash and other changes on the screen, even so far as concerns the habitual 2D-image can cause epileptic seizures not.
Myth No. 3: A stereo 3D - responsible for dizzinesses and nausea.
Statistically, dizziness when viewing 3D is tested by only 5 % of the audience. It exceeds an indicator feeling similar discomfort among those who watches film at a usual cinema a little. The reasons can be the most various - from violations of a vestibular mechanism to the raised psikholobilnost. The most widespread reason of such condition is that between the viewer and the screen too small distance. In that case for discomfort elimination will change far away enough.
Myth No. 4: 3D eyes are tired of a stereo quicker.
If the reason was that the organ of vision is tired of need long to be focused on the screen plane, all people whom owing to the profession (or hobbies) are compelled to focus daily a look on the flat screen of the computer monitor or the TV in a usual mode 2D would face a similar problem. The conclusion is simple: do not overload the organism with visual effects, and 3D-cinemas choose places in the middle of a hall as worst of all the stereoimage is perceived from lateral places.
Myth No. 5: 3D-points suit not to all.
It is true only partly. Points should suit you on the size. Therefore at the "correct" 3D-cinemas the audience are given out points of the different sizes (man's, female and children's), and in the others - only standard. Therefore it is better to acquire own glasses and to go to the cinema «with the samovar». (Already there are special models for the people wearing glasses with dioptries). It will secure you and from the point of view of personal hygiene. So, in Indian the cities of Mumbai unpleasant precedent has been fixed: mass flash by summer of diseases by conjunctivitis. Doctors have proved that reusable 3D-points at cinemas through which the infection was transmitted from the viewer to the viewer became the reason of distribution of conjunctivitis.
